While brainstorming ideas of how to celebrate our 25th anniversary, we spent a lot of time trying to figure out how we can give back to those who have fueled our growth throughout the past quarter-century. Typical anniversary celebrations such as a party, open house or single event simply didn’t show our gratitude the way we wanted.
After much deliberation, it was decided that the only way to appropriately express our gratitude and commemorate the past 25 years is to complete 25 good deeds throughout our 25th year. Each of the deeds will be collaboration with one of our clients and/or fellow community members and all will be geared to benefit local not-for-profits, children’s groups, military personnel, churches and other various community groups.
Our first collaboration is with Friends of Honduran Children. Co-owner Joel O’Brien is part of a mission group from Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) that includes 15 teens. The group will travel to Tegucigalpa, Honduras in June where they will visit surrounding villages. According to O’Brien, the group will complete a work project, spend a day delivering food to families and plan an event for children in the villages. Says O’Brien, “This is a great opportunity for IHM students to perform service while they develop a better understanding of living conditions in a developing nation.”
As part of their service, the IHM students are responsible for raising the money to pay for their trip and collecting items – such as new and gently used shoes and conservative summer clothing, toys and games – to take with them. Printing Partners is helping collect donations and will match cash contributions up to $2,500 total. Anyone interested in donating money or items to benefit Honduran children should visit www.PrintingPartners.net/25deeds. Donations can be made via the website above or can be dropped off at either of our two locations. If you need your contributions picked up (local only), contact Mallory MacDermott at Mallory@printingpartners.net or 317-635-2282.
Additional collaborations will continue over the next twelve months, according to co-owner Michael O’Brien. “On June 21, we will partner with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra to promote Printing Partners’ Scout Night at Marsh Symphony on the Prairie. All scouts in uniform will be admitted free and accompanying adults will be able to purchase a discounted $18 ticket by calling Margaret Henney at 317-231-6788 in advance.”
Keep an eye out for announcements of our remaining 23 deeds throughout the year.
